Goon Yam Festival
The Bodhisattva Goon Yam (Guanyin) inspires us to take to heart her example of compassion. Fung Loy Kok participants from many countries chant to pay respect to Goon Yam and to express our intention to bring peace and harmony to the world.
Lord Lao Festival
Yesterday people of all ages from around the world gather to celebrate the Festival of Lord Lao (Laozi, Lao-Tzu). In coming together to chant for the world and give thanks for the teachings of Taoism, we all benefit from the opportunity it offers to transform ourselves to become better people.
Borrowing from the Vault of Goon Yam
On the 26th day of the first lunar month (Feb 16), Goon Yam opened her vault for all to borrow blessings with promise to repay by the end of the year. Visitors to the temple paid their respects and set their intention for a year full of brightness and prosperity!
Jade Emperor Festival
Today participants gathered virtually to honour the Jade Emperor. The ruler of heaven, the Jade Emperor represents virtue, working for the benefit of all, and just leadership.
Offering of Thanks to Deities
As we prepare for Chinese New Year, participants gathered together to chant the Ten Thousand Buddhas Sutra to express their gratitude to all the deities for the blessings we have received over the past year.
Festival of the Lord of the Third Season
Today, participants of Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism gathered to chant the Three Seasons Scripture to commemorate the Festival of the Lord of the Third Season, also known as the Lord of the Water Realm. Chanting offers a way to seek protection and relief from disasters.
Double Ninth Festival
On the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, participants of Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism chant the Scripture of Filial Piety to celebrate the Double Ninth Festival. Chanting expresses our intention to pay our respects to our elders and to our ancestors, and our wish for everlasting harmony.

Today we celebrate the Southern Dipper Festival. The Southern Dipper, together with the Northern Dipper, grants longevity. Chanting together expresses our intention to bring health and longevity to all the people of the world. Immortal Lü Festival
