The Dragon's Head Blog: Fête nationale du Québec celebrated in Tallahassee, FL

HabitantPeaSoupTallyIn the spirit of all cultures moving together in harmony, the Tallahassee Branch joined their brothers and sisters in Quebec in celebrating Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day.

On Tuesday night 20 folks enjoyed the regular dinner before the weekly Branch Class.  Homemade Habitant Pea Soup (the first time I’ve had it other than from a can), fresh homemade bread with herb butter, a good salad, Murchie’s tea, and for dessert, vanilla ice-cream topped with maple finished Crown Royal.  Mon Dieu!BreakfastCrepesTally

Then on Wednesday morning 50 participants came early for breakfast before the Continuing Class.  Oatmeal with nuts and dried fruit, savory crepes with asparagus, eggs, Canadian bacon and gruyere, or sweet crepes with organic blueberries, raspberries and strawberries.  With plenty of Canadian maple syrup over all.

By the time we got to the class, everyone wanted to do the set in French.  Simple Fouet!
