Following on from last year’s successful «Tea at the Ritz» fundraiser the local branch organized an Art Deco Tea Party, inspired by the period design of the Fenway.
We planned, we baked, we ate, we fundraised and we partied. One kind member donated a £100 bottle of Champagne so we raised additional money for our new International Centre with a raffle. Many people dressed in period clothing and really got into the Fenway spirit.
There was live music, provided by a member, James and his mum, crustless sandwiches, limitless and beautiful cake (we have so many skilled bakers), demonstrations of Taoist Tai Chi® Arts, Lok Hup, sword and sabre, and dancing to 1920s and 30s Jazz, including some on the spot Charleston lessons.
Happy times. Partying is even more fun when it’s for a good cause.
