At our Colchester Centre on May 4th, members came together from four different branches for our first gardening day of the year.
It was a very productive day as we tidied and pruned, weeded and cut back, planted up pots with young bedding plants, planted lettuce and sunflower seeds, and prepared a tomato bed.
A separate team primed and painted our newly acquired storage containers.
During the day we held a plant sale where many new and delicate plants were donated and sold, raising money for the international projects fund.
And, of course, our winter-dishevelled dragon metamorphosed into a fine and handsome dragon once more.
The whole garden was transformed into a wonderful and magical place. Thanks to all the efforts of our dedicated team of volunteers.
