The Dragon's Head Blog: Praktyka chantingu

Praktyka chantingu

To był mój drugi raz, gdy brałam udział w chantingu on-line. I takie wyzwanie! 60 stron!

I niespodziewanie znalazłam inny sposób. I następnego dnia. I następnego.

It was my second time when I participated in online chanting and such a challenge! 60 pages! I bet I’ll get lost and what will happen! And here is a big surprise for myself – I was singing all the time. There was no problem. Even when the internet crashed, I continued smoothly.

But there is one more remarkable effect for me. I haven’t exercised in months. Even though I tried to convince myself. I remembered how many benefits exercise gave me but I could not mobilize myself to do so. When I tried to practice at home, I only paid attention to the creaking knee and I stopped.

And suddenly I found another way. While walking around my blocks, I found a secluded square. I just stood there and started a set. My first set was probably about fifty moves. But it’s nothing. I smiled to myself and practiced what I remembered. And the next day. And the next. I was reminded more and more. Somewhere in my home mess, I should have a list of 108 moves. Maybe I can find it. But even if not, it probably doesn’t matter that much. I am happy with what is.

The sun was shining beautiful today so I had company while I was doing the set. I practiced with my shadow. But more importantly, I noticed that when I exercise on my own, I am reminded of the instructions I received from the instructors. Sometimes from the workshops, but also often from our classes. And then my move becomes an expression of gratitude to specific people. I was touched by this idea.

Maybe this meeting made me realize that we are together, we create a community even as we are apart now. I have received a wonderful gift. Teachings that help you live and do a lot of good on many levels. I felt responsible for maintaining this message in these difficult times.
